Time of Your Life

When I started painting this piece I already knew it was going to be my last big one of the collection, but I quickly realized this is likely the last big original of my 20s too. So that was very emotional. I wanted to paint a big deep sunset to represent the end of this time, and the field is filled with daisies and all colours of poppies. I encourage you to look up the symbolism for whichever flower draws you in the most… they are all important to me, representing the different people who have come and gone throughout the last decade of my life.
Flowers in full bloom, the stage in their cycle before death. Sunsets in spectacular glory, the last show before dark. The Golden Hour Collection, for me, is a delightful celebration of the last decade of painting and my life, and a share of the love I have and had for the many people who came in and went.
