Kaleidoscope of Life
Oil on Cradled Wood Panel • 24” x 36” • 2023
In 2020, Grace and I tore up half our front yard and turned it into a flower haven for birds, bees, and butterflies. Every morning we can we have coffee out there together in our garden, and even used cut flowers from it for our wedding flowers. That garden was the visual inspiration for this painting, but my relationship with Grace and growing and changing together is the emotional inspiration for the piece.
Flowers in full bloom, the stage in their cycle before death. Sunsets in spectacular glory, the last show before dark. The Golden Hour Collection, for me, is a delightful celebration of the last decade of painting and my life, and a share of the love I have and had for the many people who came in and went.
