Evening Skies Vertical Landscape Print
Original: Oil on canvas • 14” x 11” • 2020
"Evening Skies" is painted from a STUNNING sunset that Grace and I saw while camping in northern Ontario this summer. Our campsite was right by the beach, and we caught the last sun of day for a swim, and enjoyed the sunset with some beers and watercolour painting. I could paint this scene 100 times and never grow tired of how gorgeous it is.
The Eternal Collection comes after a summer of beginning and end. I lost Suzie, our family dog and arguably my best friend, my sister is pregnant with my first nibling, and my last living grandparent, Dorothy, passed away a bit suddenly.
I watched many sunrises and sunsets this summer - all moving me in different ways. This collection is the pouring out onto canvas of this joy and grief, bliss and peace, and everlasting love.
